Sand Sculpture Festival
This is an annual event held during the Spring and Summer months. It has a variety of impressive sculptures made from sand. This years theme was fantasy and fairy tails. Workshops are also available to make your own masterpiece!

Karting
In Almancil there is a 760m circuit for karting and a children’s circuit, a mechanical bull and disco bar.
Walking
The coastline is particularly attractive, and you can walk along the cliffs quite easily and stop for a drink or lunch!

Watersports
Visit Praia Grande in Ferragudo for windsurfing etc, and also Carvoeiro beach. Most beaches have pedaloes for hire. You can learn to Scuba Dive at Divers Cove at the Almansor Hotel (for beginners as well as experienced divers).
Tennis
You can play tennis both at Rocha Brava and at Carvoeiro Club, rackets can be hired at both centres.

You can hire push bikes and mopeds from a shop on Rua do Barranco (the road running from the square out towards Lagoa) the last shop on your left before the one way system ends.
