Description
Casa dos Pescadores is a superbly appointed and furnished bungalow, offering two air-conditioned bedrooms, one with a king-size double bed and one with twin beds, which share the use of a bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is a fully fitted and equipped kitchen (with oven/hob, microwave, washing machine, and dishwasher). The lounge/dining area is cosy and comfortable with air conditioning and a smart TV with Chromecast. The property was fully renovated in 2023 to a very high standard and is extremely well presented while keeping its authentic original charm.
There are patio doors to a very large private south-facing terrace with table and chairs - a great place for dining al fresco - and also plenty of space for relaxing on sun loungers. There is a hammock for lazy afternoons and stairs to the roof terrace, which offers a BBQ. Glass encloses the lower terrace, making it safe for children without blocking the view. The property itself is double glazed throughout, and there is a log burner in the lounge for those cooler winter months. Parking is widely available at various locations close by.
The bungalow is conveniently situated close to all the main amenities at Quinta do Paraiso, being just a short stroll from the centre of the complex. Here you will find an excellent Italian restaurant, poolside bar, mini-market, three large communal swimming pools, children’s pool, kids club, and a dive school. There is also a children's playground, tennis courts, and mini golf to enjoy, and other activities and entertainments are provided daily by the resort during the summer months.
The short walk into Carvoeiro centre provides stunning sea views, and you’ll pass by the beautiful Paraiso beach (a hidden gem down a flight of steps cut into the cliff face), which is also a great spot to watch the sunset. In the village, you’ll be able to wander onto the main beach, passing nearby cafes and restaurants, from where you can get boat trips to explore the glorious coastline with its renowned caves and grottoes. If walking is more your thing, then pass through the village and up to the church, where you’ll find a scenic boardwalk along the cliff tops that will take you along to Algar Seco, where a drink to take in the views at the Boneca bar is a must.
Carvoeiro itself was originally a fishing village and still retains that small-scale charm. There are many restaurants here to choose from, with all tastes seemingly catered for. There are also many cafes and bars where you can sit and watch the world go by, either down by the beach or in the village itself. If you don’t then want to do the return walk to Quinta do Paraiso, there are always plenty of taxis readily available to give you a lift home.

The terrace in the apartment is super spacious and we enjoyed having dinners outside., The town centre of Carvoeiro is not too far away. 20mins walkinga quick car ride away. Katharina is a very friendly and responsive host. We had a great time and I can highly recommend it.

A very nice stay. Quiet location about 5-10 minutes drive from town. You could also walk, however it was a step climb.

The roof terrace was closed for refurbishment which was a shame and the heated pool was also closed which we weren't expecting. The walk to the centre of Carvoeiro was great as it's all downhill... the walk back up however is tough, especially pushinsee more

Thank you for your feedback. The work on the roof terrace was supposed to be finished well before your arrival but due to the extremely bad wet winter we have experienced, it was delayed. Work on the area does now mean it is a lovely space for futuresee more

Lovely place to stay for our 2 week break - close enough to walk into Carvoeiro and plenty of other places to walk to that weren't in the town - including Trattoria Oliveira that was 2 mins walk and very friendly. The boardwalk is lovely and easy to see more

The boardwalk is lovely and easy to walk along. Lots of nearby places including a few Vineyards worth going to. Ferragudo a short distance and Sagres, Salema and Burgau - you do need a car for these though! Hoopoe bird was a lovely visitor! Accommodation was a good size - especially as was just the 2 of us - large patio area was great - much bigger than you'd normally get in an apartment. All in all I would thoroughly recommend.

Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Wir mochten die ruhige Lage, dass man schnell in den Pool hüpfen konnte und in Gehminuten unten am Strand war. Wir hatten alles, was wir brauchten. Anmerkung: Ende Oktober waren die Schlafzimmer jedoch etwas zu feuchsee more

Anmerkung: Ende Oktober waren die Schlafzimmer jedoch etwas zu feucht, was aber wohl generell am Klima und der Bausubstanz liegt. Die Klima hat geholfen. Die Hunden vom Nachbarn oben auf dem Berg waren abends und nachts teilweise ziemlich laut und lange gebellt, aber auch hierfür kann die Gastgeberin eher wenig. Wir können die Ecke mit Kindern sehr empfehlen, wir hatten immer was zutun und die Kids waren happy.

Located in the centre of Carvoeiro, this charming traditional house has been beautifully converted and restored maintaining traditional features which have been wonderfully blended with modern luxuries. The house has an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area with patio doors leading to a private courtyard with external dining area and BBQ featuring a mature Olive tree to provide shade in the summer months.
Wooden stairs lead to a mezzanine level with double bed. To the rear of the property is a small room with bunk beds and a bathroom with large walk in shower. The décor and furnishing of the house is welcoming light and has a holiday feel.
The beach in Carvoeiro is a an easy 10 minute walk and restaurants, bars and shops can be reached by foot. Several other excellent beaches are close including Centeanes which is excellent for families with a good restaurant/snack bar and water sports/boat trips offered. The famous seven hanging valleys walking trail starts at Centeanes beach and it well worth the effort for the views of the magnificent coastline.
There is free public parking available outside the house. There are several golf courses within a ten minute drive and there is a water park within a ten minute drive.11 reviews
